Candle Care + Safety Guide
Before You Light
- Trim the Wick - Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch to prevent excess smoke and ensure an even flame.
- Create the perfect burn by placing your candle on a flat, heat-safe surface, away from drafts, vents, and open windows.
- For your first burn, allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the jar (about 3 hours) — this helps your candle burn evenly every time.
- Keep each session to 4 hours or less.
While It Burns
- Let your candle glow — but never unattended. Always extinguish it before leaving the room or heading to bed.
- Keep away from children, pets, and anything flammable like curtains or books.
- If the flame flickers too high or you notice soot, snuff it out, trim the wick slightly, and re-light once cooled.
- Avoid moving your candle while it’s burning or when the wax is still warm and liquid.
After the Flame
- Use a candle snuffer to gently extinguish your candle — avoid blowing it out or using water.
- Allow it to cool completely before touching, moving, or relighting.
- Once about ½ inch of wax remains, it’s time to retire your candle and welcome a fresh new scent.
